Wizz Air to fly directly between St Petersburg, Budapest from Aug

ST PETERSBURG, May 5 (PRIME) -- Wizz Air, one of the biggest low cost airlines in Central and Eastern Europe, intends to start direct flights between Saint Petersburg and Budapest in August, Saint Petersburg-based Pulkovo airport’s managing company Northern Capital Gateway said on Friday.

The flights will be performed twice a week using Airbus A320 aircraft.

“Wizz Air’s arrival to Pulkovo is a long-awaited event for both the airport and the city of Saint Petersburg. This is the first fully-fledged foreign discount airline to fly from Pulkovo,” Northern Capital Gateway CFO Yevgeny Ilin said.

Head of communications at Wizz Air Tamara Vallois said the new flight is a significant event for her company as the cities have not had direct air communication yet.
